Oliver!

“Speaking of triple threats, Noah Parets, 14, of Sharon, was amazing as the jaunty Artful Dodger, Fagin’s young ringleader. During the song “Consider Yourself,” where he takes Oliver under his wing to introduce him to the life of a pickpocket, Parets’ acting, singing and dancing skills are showcased in spectacular fashion. Parets was most recently seen in the title role of the national touring production of “Billy Elliot.”

“The show features the highly anticipated return of former Trinity Rep artistic director and Academy Award-nominated actor Richard Jenkins as director of the production and his wife Sharon Jenkins as choreographer.

“The latter did a great job of utilizing Parets’ dancing skills – and those of other cast members – in “Consider Yourself,” and several other numbers. The choreography throughout the show was impressive”

“Every once in a while, it is important to be reminded that stage musicals are not all period pieces of recycled fluff… and furthermore, children are as equally talented as their elder costars.

“This bold, colorful production features Phineas Peters, who shines in the titular role, and an adorably impish Noah Parets as his partner-in-crime, the Artful Dodger. This production is joyous, enlightening and, simply put, a must-see.”

“The performances of Noah Parets as The Artful Dodger and Phineas Peters as Oliver highlight the show and provide a dazzling display of the kind of theatrical talent so abundant in the Ocean State. They glide through Sharon Jenkins’ lively choreography as if they’re direct descendants of Fred Astaire, never missing a step. Parets has an amazing voice, always in key and under perfect control.”
The Newport Daily News

“And 14-year-old Noah Parets was terrific as the Artful Dodger. His singing is solid (he’s sung the national anthem at Fenway Park), and he more than does justice to Sharon Jenkins’ ambitious choreography, which weaves together tap and ballet.”
— Providence Journal

… “Phineas Peters and Noah Parets headline the children’s cast as the titular Oliver Twist and his London chum, The Artful Dodger… Parets fills the Dodger’s shoes to a T; he has the swagger and conceit of a self-styled gentleman conman and all the childhood charm he needs to make these dubious traits thoroughly winning to an audience. Parets shines as a remarkably talented dancer and impressively performs several intricate pieces of choreography and character-building tap routines.”
